CENTRE OF MULTIFUNCTIONAL MATERIALS AND NEW PROCESSES WITH ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Workshop SIZEMAT devoted to the size-dependent phenomena as a promising way to control the materials properties will be organized. The thematic area of the workshop comprises materials forming the basis of modern technologies, particularly with regard to clean energy production and environmental protection. Two classes of advanced inorganic materials will be covered: materials for clean energy storage and catalysts/sorbents for environmental protection.

The workshop MetEcoMat (19-21 April, Plovdiv, Bulgaria 2007) (http://metecomat.igic.bas.bg/) is devoted to all aspects of characterization and metrology of ecomaterials and processes. The thematic area of the workshop comprises advanced laser materials for ecology, functional materials for environmental protection, and materials for energy application. The metrology topics will be focused on method validation and quality assurance of environmental analysis. Thermodynamic modeling of ecomaterials and processes in order to predict novel properties will be presented. Green technologies for production of ecomaterials will be discussed with the intention to solve the global environmental issues.
